![]() It is this added feature that makes the game so believable and enjoyable to play, not having to reload all the time and search for new guns. The game play is great, the controls are easy to use and getting around the island is easy, you can pick up abandoned cars to drive between the two safe houses (both of which strangely do not attract any zombie of any kind) there are no guns in this game just paddle’s, butcher knives, blunt sticks and my personal favourite the Motlov cocktail *note this is dependant on the character you choose as to what kind of weapons you have, we played with the non gun slinging character. Part of effective gameplay is hitting the zombies in exposed body parts and open wounds to inflict more damage and this can get quite graphic at times. It is quite graphically violent particularly when it comes to the blood factor (I know what do you expect in a zombie game!) but even for a MA rated game it is quite full on so those with a weak stomach would not do well to play this game. The game is set out like Infamous, you have free reign of the island and speak to various survivors and carry out several missions for them all in an effort to get the power back on and get a signal happening so you can call for assistance, and if that wasn’t enough Oceanic flights are back to crash on the island and create some more missions that take this game to a whole other level. You choose your character from the main screen and set off as the island’s only immune member who cannot catch this virus so the onus is on you to do everything while everyone else just sits around and makes uncomfortable groaning noises. This is ridiculous. So many Zombie apocalypse games crowd our consoles begging for our undivided attention and hard earned dollars so when the preview for this one came along it looked like a bad Resident Evil knock off, fortunately our prediction was completely wrong and the team at Housemarque (Super Stardust HD) have created a rich and engaging environment that will see you spending endless hours at its mercy. ![]() What's going on? How do I fix it? Why is it happening?ĮDIT: As of this post, I have restarted the game 6 times, restarted the system 3 times, recalibrated the sound twice, deleted the patch twice (both times trying to play it without installing the patch as exiting the download before starting it continues the game but doesn't install the patch), installed/reinstalled the patch three times. As this is the official tech support board, and the problem is obviously exclusively with the game- please offer some support. What gives? I've searched these forums and several others, and while I can find several cases of others with similar issues, no one seems to have any idea how to fix it. ![]() Even the logos and intro video at the very beginning are completely silent. ![]() However, once I start Dead Island, there is no sound at all. Even the clicking sound on the XMB works. Pop in another two games to check their sound. I check the tv, the ps3, the cables, etc. Once I go back into the game (only the SECOND time I've ever started it- and the first time I didn't even get to the main menu), and there is NO sound. However, at the behest of that gamma slider at the beginning, I go back to my XMB dashboard, to the video options, in an attempt to turn off some non-existent 'Enhanced Black' option. Go home, wait for the wife to go to bed and pop the disc into my PS3 for some sweet zombie killing fun. But does anyone have any ideas/solutions for this? I haven't been able to find anything through google. As it's late and I'm rather pissed about this, I'm just going to paste it rather than re-write it. What gives?īelow is a copy of my attempt to get some sort of information from the DI Tech Forum to help. And I haven't even played 1 minute of the game. =PĬurrently, I have no sound from Dead Island, at all. Such an easy solution to a frustrating as hell problem. Because of that, I had video going through HDMI, and though I tried auto-configuring the sound to go through HDMI as well, that one little tick made it so that it was searching for that other cable first for audio output. DI had taken upon itself to auto-tick 'Dolby Digital' under Sound Settings, and thus was attempting to send audio through DD, which goes through, I believe, a component cable.
